Spend the day studying southwest Colorado’s natural and cultural history with other 4th Graders from Montezuma and Dolores Counties! Educators and archaeologists will lead students through activities located on the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center campus.

Visiting With Respect: A station introducing what Archeology is and how it can be applied to students' lives.
Pueblo Learning Center: Students explore a reproduction of a 13th century roomblock which illustrates how Pueblo people lived before migrating from the region.
Pithouse Learning Center: Students learn about the first sedentary agriculturalists in our region by exploring a reproduction of a Basketmaker period pithouse and replica artifacts.
Colorado Ute History: A place in space geography activity giving students a sense of their location on the landscape and orienting them to the many different people and cultures have interacted with this place.
The Amazing Atlatl: This lesson teaches students how and why Ancestral Puebloan people used atlatls and the hunting advantages associated with these early tools.
Arrive at the Crow Canyon Archaeological Center by 9:15 a.m.
Programs start at 9:50 a.m.
Lunch (courtesy of Crow Canyon) from 12:00 to 12:35 p.m.
Depart at 2:15 p.m. to return to your school

Transportation to and from the Crow Canyon campus is the school's responsibility, however, Crow Canyon can reimburse cost with submitted invoice.
